Eric founded African Frontier Capital in 2010. He has 18 years private equity and investment banking experience gained on Wall Street (Barington Capital) and in London (Citigroup Investment Banking). He has advised and structured billions of dollar of cross border M&A transactions, IPOs, LBOs and Real Estate transactions.
Before founding African Frontier Capital, Eric was at PME African Infrastructure Opportunities fund where he led the fund’s efforts in Real Estate, ICT, Aviation, Energy and Water transactions.
Eric has an MBA from London Business School, UK.
28 years of finance & investment banking experience
Zarif has spent 28 years in the finance industry of which 18 years has been in the Telecoms, Media and Technology (TMT) sector. He worked for 8 financial institutions having held roles in assisting companies in raising both debt and equity in the bank and capital markets.
In 2006 Zarif became Global Financing Director at ZTE Corporation (China’s largest listed telecommunications vendor) where he worked on telecom financing projects globally (including in Africa). Clients ranged from start-ups to major multi national telecom companies.
Zarif graduated with Honours in English and History from the University of Lancaster and holds the Securities and Financial Derivatives Representatives (SFDR) qualification from the FCA.
